Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the Kinprint app (the “Application”) for iPhone, iPad and Mac, and to the kinprintphoto.com website, both created by Majestical Roof LLC (the “Service Provider”) as a Commercial service. This service is intended for use “AS IS”.

The short version

• Your photos are scored on your device. Kinprint reads your photo library only with your permission, and never changes or deletes a photo.
• Before any photo is sent for the final pick, you see exactly which photos will be sent, and you can remove any of them.
• Only small copies with the location and camera details stripped out are sent, over an encrypted connection, to an AI service that chooses the best set. They are deleted from our storage when the choice is made.
• Only the photos in your finished book are uploaded for printing, and only when you place an order.
• There is no account to create. We do not run ads, we do not track you across other apps or sites, and we do not sell your information.

Information Collection and Use

Your photos

The Application asks for access to your photo library. It reads only the date range you choose, and it does not read your Hidden album or Recently Deleted. The Application never edits, moves or deletes your photos. You can withdraw access at any time in your device’s Settings.

Analysis on your device

The Application analyses your photos on your device to estimate quality (sharpness, composition), to find near-duplicates, and to notice closed eyes. It detects whether faces are present and where; it does not identify who anyone is, and this analysis never leaves your device.

Choosing your photos with AI

To pick a varied set of photos and group them into chapters, the Application sends a reduced-size copy (at most 512 pixels on the long side) of each candidate photo, together with the date it was taken and its quality scores. Before this happens you review the list and can remove any photo. The copies have all metadata removed: no location, no camera information, no file names.

The copies are sent over an encrypted connection to our server, which passes them to Anthropic, the provider of the Claude AI model, to make the selection. We delete the copies from our storage when the selection finishes, and our storage expires any that remain within one day. Under Anthropic’s commercial terms, content sent through its API is not used to train its models, and Anthropic keeps it only for a limited period (currently up to 30 days) for safety and operations before deleting it.

Ordering a printed book

When you order, the Application uploads the finished book, which contains only the photos used in it, to our storage so the print partner can fetch it. We keep that file for 30 days and then delete it.

Payment, your name, email address, phone number and shipping address are collected by Stripe on its checkout page. Stripe handles your card or Apple Pay details; we never see or store your card number. We pass your name, address and contact details to our print partner, Prodigi, so they can print and deliver your book, and we keep a record of the order (its status, amounts and delivery details) for up to 90 days. Stripe and Prodigi keep their own records as their policies and the law require, for example for tax, fraud prevention and delivery.

Technical information

The Application generates a random identifier when it is first run and keeps it in your device’s Keychain, so it stays the same if you delete and reinstall the app. It is not tied to your Apple ID or your identity, is not shared between your devices, and we use it to limit use of the service, prevent abuse, and recognise your own orders. Our servers also log requests, including your device’s IP address, for security.

What we do not collect

The Application does not collect your precise location, your contacts, or your health or financial information. It currently has no advertising and no analytics. If we add analytics in the future we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it. The website does not use cookies or advertising trackers.

Third Party Access

The Application and website use third-party services that have their own privacy policies. We share information with them only to provide the service:

• Amazon Web Services: hosting and storage for our servers
• Anthropic: AI photo selection (reduced-size copies with metadata removed, as described above)
• Stripe: payment processing, receipts and sales tax
• Prodigi: printing and delivery of your book
• Apple: the App Store and Apple Pay

The Service Provider may disclose your information:

• as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process;
• when they believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect their rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;
• with their trusted service providers who work on their behalf, do not have an independent use of the information disclosed to them, and have agreed to adhere to the rules set forth in this privacy statement.

International Data Transfers

The Service Provider is based in the United States, and the services listed above process data in the United States. Orders can currently be shipped only within the United States. Where personal data of users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland is transferred to the United States, the Service Provider relies on appropriate safeguards required by law, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or a provider’s certification under the EU-U.S., UK or Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, where applicable.

Your Rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland you also have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to withdraw consent. Because the Application has no accounts, the information we hold is mostly your order record and what our service providers hold. To exercise any of these rights, email contact@majesticalroof.tech and we will act on your request and confirm once it is done. We may keep information we are legally required to keep, such as tax records. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Opt-Out Rights

You can stop all collection of information by the Application by uninstalling it, using the standard uninstall process on your device. You can also withdraw the Application’s access to your photos at any time in your device’s Settings. Photos analysed on your device stay on your device.

Data Retention Policy

• Photo copies used for the AI selection: deleted from our storage when the selection finishes, and in any case within one day. Anthropic keeps them for a limited period as described above.
• Your finished book file: 30 days after you order, then deleted.
• Order record: up to 90 days.
• Payment and delivery records at Stripe and Prodigi: as long as their policies and the law require.

Children

The Service Provider does not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13, and the Application does not address anyone under 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. Family photo libraries often include children; those photos are treated like any others, stay on your device unless you choose to include them, and you can remove any photo before it is sent. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at contact@majesticalroof.tech so we can take the necessary action.

Security

The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. Data is encrypted in transit and in our storage, access to it is limited, and the services we rely on provide their own physical, electronic and procedural safeguards. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes. This privacy policy is effective as of the date specified at the beginning of this document.

Your Consent

By using the Application, you are consenting to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us.
